Dedicated lupus clinic room opens at Chapel Allerton Hospital

A dedicated lupus clinic room has now been officially opened at Chapel Allerton Hospital.

LTHT has one of the largest rheumatology clinics in Europe and cares for patients from across Yorkshire, as well as having the only dedicated musculoskeletal research unit in the country at the NIHR Biomedical Research Centre.

The new clinic room, which was previously used as a waiting area, will allow the clinical team to have their own space for seeing patients and will help to progress some of the exciting research programmes working to understand lupus and how to treat it.

The updates to the room have been funded by Hibbs Lupus Trust, who provide support to those affected by the condition and work with NHS hospitals to provide facilities, equipment and services to benefit these patients.

Well done to the team at Chapel Allerton who have worked hard to get this room ready for use.
