After qualifying as a physiotherapist from Sheffield Hallam University, Ben completed his junior rotations within the NHS before relocating to Yorkshire to take up a Senior Musculoskeletal physiotherapist post in the South Tees NHS Hospitals Foundation Trust. During this time he secured a place as an intern on the new prestigious NIHR Clinical Academic Internship scheme launched in 2012.
Ben is currently a NIHR/HEE Clinical Doctoral Research Fellow having recently secured this competitive funding grant to investigate the stratification of patellofemoral pain. He combines this work with maintaining one day a week within his previous clinical NHS role. His current research work includes a coordinated programmes of studies which includes advanced 3D image analysis of the patellofemoral joint through to targeted interventions of a patient cohort.
Ben also sits on the Physiotherapy Research Society committee and is currently the physiotherapist for the England Touch Rugby squad
