The link up to operating theatres from the BRC enables live and interactive demonstration of joint replacement surgeries such as knee and hip, for example for medical engineering students. As well as viewing the surgery with commentary from the surgeon, trainees are able to ask questions of surgeons both during and after the surgery. Previous attendees have found this approach extremely beneficial in increasing understanding of joint replacement.
We hold an informal lecture series on the first Wednesday of every month (with some exceptions) in order to provide relevant information not necessarily covered in formal aspects of PhD, MD and Post Doc training. This postgraduate support group also provides an opportunity to network with other BRC trainees. The current event schedule can be found by following the link to our events page.
