We are thrilled to report that our workstream co-lead Andy Clegg has been honoured with an NIHR Research Professorship.
The award is a great addition to Andy’s portfolio, he is currently Professor of Geriatric Medicine at the University of Leeds, Head of Ageing and Stroke Research at the University of Leeds, and Honorary Consultant Geriatrician at Bradford Royal Infirmary.
The prestigious NIHR Research Professorships scheme funding and supporting research leaders of the future. It aims to strengthen and benefit health, public health and care research leadership.
Speaking about the award Andy said:
“I am absolutely delighted to receive this NIHR Research Professorship, which will use novel data science approaches to target interventions to maximise independence for older people as a UK and global priority. Plans will build on the cutting edge science that is being delivered through the NIHR Leeds BRC and will generate outputs with potential to transform care for older people in the UK and internationally.’’
