Leeds BioResource Diversity Drive Featured by NIHR

Our colleagues at Leeds BioResource Centre have been featured by the central NIHR BioResource as part of the Celebrating our Centres series.

The Leeds BioResource team’s work is aimed at increasing diversity and representation in research, a vital part of generating effective medical research. Included is the spotlighting of a recent filming project (pictured right) as part of the BioResource’s partnership with Egality Health.

The role of our BioResource Centre, which sits in the portfolio of NIHR projects at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, is in the important work of recruitment and increasing participation by patients in vital biomedical research into rare medical conditions.

This includes Immune Mediated Inflammatory Diseases (IMID), which Leeds is the top recruitment site for in the country.
