Knee replacement grant success

Professors Hemant Pandit and Anthony Redmond have just had confirmation that their UKIERI grant has been successful. The project will fund activity in Leeds and with our partners in India (£121k in UK and ~£65k India) for unicompartmental knee replacement, a safe surgical treatment option for treating end-stage knee osteoarthritis which provides good outcome and allows Indian patients' to address social / cultural needs to squat and sit cross-legged. At present however, this treatment option is rarely used in India. The project also showcases Leeds' expertise and approach to international outreach.
