The NIHR BioResource helps researchers find and contact volunteers with specific genetic and disease profiles, providing them with access to necessary data and samples.

NIHR Leeds BRC supports this by collaborating and providing infrastructure for translational research.

The Leeds BioResource Centre is one of 18 local BioResource Centres across England, each linked to a local BRC.

It aims to facilitate human health research and its medical application, connecting researchers and volunteers.

Objectives

• Recruit and engage volunteers for research

• Collaborate with academic, NHS, and industry groups to translate lab findings into clinical benefits

• Develop systems for better access to samples, data, and resources for healthcare challenges

• Build partnerships with health research groups, organisations, companies, and charities to maximise research value and improve healthcare
