Professor Philip Helliwell honoured with prestigious awards

Our colleague Prof Philip Helliwell has recently been honoured with numerous awards in recognition of his career in service to rheumatology and the NHS.

Prof Helliwell was presented with the esteemed accolade of the Outstanding Lifetime Contribution to Healthcare award at the Our Health Heroes Awards, clinching the top prize in the category. The award was presented by public science communicator and broadcaster Prof Alice Roberts and NHS Employer Chief Executive Danny Mortimer.
This is a testament to Prof Helliwell’s unwavering commitment to healthcare and his outstanding contributions to the medical community.

In addition to this remarkable achievement, at the recent British Society for Rheumatology conference 2024, Prof Helliwell was bestowed with delivering the esteemed Heberden Round, one of the most prestigious honours within the society, marking a significant milestone in his illustrious career.
