Great news that our colleague, Healthcare Scientist Emma Clark, has won the prestigious Rising Star Award at the recent Time To Shine Awards 2024 recognising the work by Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust staff.
The Rising Star Award is given to colleagues who have started working at LTHT in the last two years and have already made their mark.
Emma received the award from Trust Chair Dame Linda Pollard and Sovereign Healthcare Chief Executive Neil McCallum.
Speaking on winning the award Emma said, “it was an absolute honour to win the Rising Star award at the LTHT Time To Shine Awards. It was a spectacular evening to showcase and celebrate the incredible work happening across the Trust by countless employees, all united by their selflessness and dedication to improving patient care.”
“I was very proud to have initially been shortlisted for Rising Star. Moreover, winning the award and gaining recognition for my role at Trust level was a truly humbling experience.”
“The research I perform as part of the NIHR Leeds BRC has the potential to influence future policy on standard of care for patients with life threatening infections. This is something that I am extremely passionate about, along with being able to help shape the future of antibiotic prescription to tackle the growing threat of antimicrobial resistance.”
“I am delighted that this award has provided the opportunity to highlight the impact of our research and my role within the BRC.”
Many congratulations to Emma.
