New cardiometabolic deputy theme lead at NIHR Leeds BRC

Maria is a leading Cardiac Scientist already established at Leeds and will transition into the role by 1 December 2024 when Professor Eylem Levelt (current Deputy Theme Lead) leaves the University of Leeds.

Maria is delighted to join the BRC and has said:

“I am incredibly excited by the opportunity to contribute to the Biomedical Research Centre cardiometabolic theme. My research focusses on using advanced echocardiography imaging technology to identify patients most at risk of heart failure to deliver optimised and personalised therapies that improve lives, and so my work is well positioned to build on the successes already achieved.”
