We are delighted to share that our former colleague, Professor Paul Stewart, has been awarded a CBE for his outstanding contributions to medical science.
Paul is a distinguished endocrinologist and played a pivotal role in the NIHR Leeds BRC, working within the MSK research theme and providing exemplary service on our board.
He also previously served as Executive Dean for the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Leeds. This honour is a testament to his dedication and remarkable impact on the field and his work with us and elsewhere throughout his distinguished career.
Speaking about the award Paul said: “I was absolutely delighted to receive a CBE in the 2025 King’s New Year’s honours list and can I thank all of you who have reached out with your congratulatory messages.”
“I have very fond memories of my time in Leeds and particularly pursuing two of my deep-rooted passions; firstly, people and their career development and secondly, the development of strong University-NHS partnerships. The Leeds NIHR Biomedical Research Centre is a flagship opportunity to deliver both aspirations and in turn drive a step-wise improvement in health and patient outcomes through research led clinical excellence.”
Many congratulations from all of us at NIHR Leeds BRC.
