The event, organised in collaboration NIHR Leeds Clinical Research Facility, recognised the life-changing impact of health and care research and the people who make it possible.

We welcomed researchers, patients and members of the public to the centre for a day of talks, activities and workshops. Visitors heard from our research themes about their work, our patient public involvement and engagement team.

Research projects presented diverse topics, including musculoskeletal and chronic pain management, disability inclusion in research, PMR (polymyalgia rheumatica) and technology for treating diabetes.

Additional activities included workshops zine-making workshops with the PMR research team and tours of the MRI and ultrasound imaging facilities.

The day is part of the NIHR’s mission to encourage greater participation in clinical studies and research as part of the Be Part of Research initiative. Every new treatment begins with someone choosing to take part in a study. Whether it is testing a new medication or answering a simple survey, these contributions matter.

Thank you to everyone who came to the event and for helping to make it such a huge success.
