NIHR Leeds BRC was represented by several distinguished colleagues in research at the recent Lady Mayor’s Show in London.

As the current Lady Mayor is the 697th to hold the office but only the third woman in the role, the annual parade featured 697 leading women from healthcare, legal and technology fields, as part of the Lead With Us initiative celebrating female leadership. Dr Kerrie Davies MBE and Dr Jane Freeman were among 200 leading women selected to represent healthcare in the event.
Dr Davies and Dr Freeman were honoured for their highly respected roles as clinical scientists in microbiology, and were recognised for their leadership in antimicrobial resistance as Emerging Co-Leads for Leeds BRC Antimicrobial Resistance and Infection Theme.
Both also champion women in science as network leaders for Empower Leeds Women, supporting the development of future leaders in healthcare and clinical academia.

They were congratulated in person at the parade by Dr Vicki Chalker, Deputy Chief Scientific Officer for NHS England in recognition of their achievement. This reflects their professionalism and standing as leaders in their field, and also the strength and influence of their research with NIHR Leeds BRC.
We would like to offer our congratulations to both Kerrie and Jane for representing NIHR Leeds BRC on such a prestigious stage!
